A former candidate called today and then sent me this email note sent to him from another recruiter. I may have taken a few liberties, but it is substantially the original note.

What does this sound like to you? When it sounds fishy, is smells fishy, and it has fins and scales it probably is not an opportunity, or at least not for you.

Jason,

We have sent your resume to softbellY.com. But as we discussed, I am still waiting on your "top” 5-10 client/contact list. “We need to prove to my client that you would really hit the ground running."

Our 2nd opportunity is with roundbellY.com . We have not submitted you as yet. They need a report with your resume of the top 10 clients/contacts from the last three years. This will allow me to get their attention. The position is for a SE Area Rep.

A third possibility, which I hope to have open next week is with heavyboatY.com They sell a ERM product to CAD companies and want an Southern territory rep. The VP of Sales requires a chronicle of your sales over $500,000 for the last three years. (Client/Sale/Terms/Contact) .

All three companies are established with a heavily referenced client base.

We need your client list, with the contacts, in order to expedite your moving thru the hiring process please send by return email. My instructions are to deliver "these" “credentials” for each candidate that I present.
